What is the difference between a tailor-made tour and one of your scheduled private tours?
A scheduled private tour follows a route we have already designed and tested, booked privately for your group. A tailor-made tour starts from a blank page: destinations, timing, meals and pace are all decided with you. The guides, the vehicles and the estates are the same in both cases.
What can be customised, and what cannot?
Theme, pace, departure point, duration, vehicle and endpoint are all yours to set. Fixed on our side are the maximum of 15 guests, our no-commission policy, and the practical limits of distance and opening hours, which we will always explain rather than simply refuse.
What if we do not know what we want yet?
That is the most common way our custom tours begin. Tell us how many days you have, who is travelling and roughly what draws you to Tuscany, and we will propose a plan. Most guests adjust it once or twice before confirming, which is exactly how it should work.
Can a tailor-made tour start somewhere other than Florence?
Yes. Florence is our base, but we collect guests door to door, including from accommodation elsewhere in Tuscany, and we run day trips from Siena as well. Tell us where you are staying and we will build the day around that rather than around our own logistics.
How far in advance should we ask for a custom itinerary?
We recommend 2-3 weeks, and earlier during the busy season from April to October or when the plan involves specific estates, truffle hunting or accommodation. Shorter notice is often still possible, so ask rather than assume.
Can you build a tour around a special occasion?
Yes, and we do it often: anniversaries, birthdays, proposals, and family groups travelling together for the first time in years. Mention the occasion when you write and we will plan around it discreetly, from choosing an estate with the right view to arranging a quiet table.
